Cainan Wiebe was born with a smile on his face. He was a happy baby who easily amused himself. As he got older his smile just got bigger and bigger.
When Cainan was little his parents opened a performing and visual arts school. Cainan participated in all their classes from art to dance to musical theatre to acting.
Cainan first graced the stage performing a jazz and tap number, a musical theatre review and skit as well as singing solo his ABC's. Cainan wearing black dress pants held up by suspenders, a crisp white dress shirt and black leather tie wowed the jam packed theatre with his adorable version of the ABC's. He stole the show! He was just 3 years old.
As a four-year-old Cainan's family became part of the TV and movie industry as background performers. It was a great family activity. There was wardrobe, hair & make-up, goodies from craft service and seeing and meeting big-time actors. Lights, Camera, Action! Cainan was hooked. This was never so apparent on one set where the family was among the audience for a sports game rally. The camera was panning the audience and who was down infront of the camera, following the camera as it panned the spectators---Cainan. His mom was in shock. This was a big no-no as a background performer, but nothing was said to Cainan. They did the scene again and once more there was Cainan hoot-and-hollering waving his flag on camera. A star was born!
From that moment on Cainan's parents looked into how to get their kids in front of the camera.
It was through the mother of one of Cainan's mom's vocal students, Britney Wilson, an up-and-coming actor, that this was done. They sent her agency some snap-shot photos of Canian and his sister, taken in the backyard, and a week later Cainan and his sister were signed.
Cainan has enjoyed an impressive and varied career on radio, stage, screen and television. He began his acting career with large brand name commercials and student films.
His first commercial was for Got Milk? The commercial was visually based on the movie, The Shining (Jack Nicholson) and Cainan was just 7 years old. He had to endure many hours seat-belted in a car on a flatbed truck, riding with a stunt driver, wind machines and cold & rain. Cainan loved it! At one point the producer called his mom over and said listen to this. She took the head phones and listened in. While the crew were working Cainan was strapped into the car singing softly to himself. It was there that she new this was for Cainan. They haven't looked back since.
Cainan now concentrates on TV and movies. He still has a passion for the stage though, especially musical theatre. He loves to sing, act and dance! He says, "It's different (theatre) than acting in front of the camera. You get to see the audience's reaction right away."
