And the Oscar Goes to...
Hey everybody. How are you? I’m doing very well my self. No auditions this week . I was watching the Academy Awards last night and I have to say that they were pretty amazing! I was a little disappointed when Morgan (Freeman) didn’t win, but Jeff Bridges earned it. It was a great night for the Hurt Locker especially with the first woman director taking the best director honors. The other day, I went to see “Alice In Wonderland” and I was really impressed. Last week we took a week off from EiKids to watch the end of the Olympics so for those of you waiting for episode 8 it'll be up today. So, on to your questions!
To David---What is my opinion of Tim Burton? I think Tim Burton is really great. I like his directing and his vision of the worlds he creates. I have never worked with Tim (Burton), but if given the chance I would work with him in a heart beat. I will think about putting the feet behind my head, but don’t get your heart set on it. I had wanted James Cameron's “AVATAR” to win, but unfortunately it didn’t. Too bad. I saw “Alice In Wonderland” in 3D and it was really good. I liked the story and the actors were great. Yes, so far I’ve only filmed in Canada, but I would like to film in Downey, it seems intriguing for some reason. To Happysox101---I didn’t know that ‘Shalom’ meant “hi” in Hebrew. That is very cool. Oh, that 5-page essay would not be fun. To your questions about “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” it was really fun and funny on the set. We finished filming in the Fall. To Julie---No, I have never heard of the song Barriers by David Archuleta, but I do know of him. I watched him on American Idol. Yes, I do play the guitar and harmonica. And I would love to learn to play the Saxophone. To Dawn---Glad you're back. Me against Justin Bieber-very interesting. I'm glad you won. I don't know Justin, but he is Canadian. To Ambrose--It was really fun to be in and film Black Christmas, the other actors were great and the director was very encouraging. I was pretty young then and it was my first feature film. I did look a little scary? If you are interested in acting I'd say go for it. It is so cool! I can't put it into words. To Fireflies---My part in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” is pretty fair in size. No, I haven’t read the Raising Dragon's series, but I will. It sounds like my cup of tea. I don't think the Young Artist Awards will be televised, but you never know. They do film on the red carpet. And to Noel---Sorry, I'd love to help, but I am not to sure what a Magnet program is. Fill me in. Thanks everybody for reading. My video blog should be up and running March 22nd . Have a great Spring Break! See you on Actor's Corner!!! Cainan Out!And...A Video Blog It is!
Hey everybody, how are you this week? I’m doing great! Now last week I told you about a video blog that I was thinking about doing and the verdict is in. You guys said you liked the idea so next week will probably be the week I do it depending on how busy I am. So hopefully you will see me on screen. Newsy bit: Diary of a Wimpy Kid is coming to theatres March 19th in the US and in Canada sometime in April. Make sure you go see it! Thanks to everybody for the congrats on the nominations! I can't wait till April. Road trip!! On to your questions.
To Julie---The video blog would be on the site or a link from my site whichever we can get working the best. To Noel---No, I have never seen the movie Aliens in the Attic. That’s cool that you love musicals and plays and were in them because they are so much fun. I was in Peter Pan too (I played the character of Tootles.. Yeah, the fat one). To Cydney---That’s so cool that you went to the games. I watched them on TV and it was still pretty fast--a blur for the skeleton and luge. My favourite song is Re-Educated Through Labour by Rise Against. To David---The famous horse is Mr. Ed. Am I right? I'll be definitely answering people's questions on the video blog. To Metalhead13---No, I’ve never played an Emo kid but I did audition for one once. I gelled my hair Emo, wore eyeliner--it was fun. To Fireflies---No, I have never read the books 39 clues but my sister relishes them. And I must say I’m a Last Air Bender fan and can't wait for it to come out. Yes, I have seen Avatar. It was great! I have met some other teen stars at the Young Artist Awards. I met Annasophia Robb. She was very nice! Yeah, I did watch the hockey game. It was a real nail biter, but I’m glad we won. I also watched the closing ceremonies and really liked them. The Olympics were amazing as per usual. To Twilightfan---That’s good that you weren’t nervous to hand in your assignment… I mean I dislike school very much but you really do need it. To David---Eikids will be available for download and hopefully on DVD. I don’t know when though. Thanks for reading and hopefully I can get the video blog out this week and things can start rolling. Have a great weekend and good night!! Cainan Out!
Nominations!
Hey guys, how are you doing this week? Wow, it's pilot season and I've had 10 auditions over the last week and a half. It's been crazy! There's lots of work to do and pilot season has just started. I've got some exciting news. I have been nominated for 3 Young Artist Awards. I'll be taking a trip to LA for the ceremony. I'm nominated for Beyond Sherwood Forest (a Robin Hood adventure), Supernatural the TV series, and Dinosaur Train (voice-over). I can't wait to visit Hollywood again.
To Twilightfan---I think the quote means that you can chose to be either a good person or a bad person. We have a choice. No, I've never used negative colors to do art , but it sounds fun. Books? I love books. I can read 5 books in a week. To Noel---No, I've haven't seen Hannah Montana the movie. I love table tennis. I've only played it on a cruiseship, but it was so much fun. To David---When you act with a green screen it takes a lot of imagination on the part of the actor. But, when you're really into the scene you don't even notice there's nothing around you, but green screen. I've worked a lot with green screens. It's pretty cool when you see the finished product. I love CGI. No, I haven't checked out those songs yet, but I will when things slow down a bit. To Fireflies---The Last Airbender trailer is great. I can't wait to see it. What Alex Rider book did you finish? My favorite winter Olympic sport is freestyle aerials. They are the best! To Julie---Oh, you're so lucky. I haven't seen The Lightning Thief, but I plan to go see it soon. You're coming to Vancouver? Cool! I think you'll love Vancouver. Come in the Summer---August is the best month. Thanks for reading! Hey, a couple things---I'm now on Twitter. Also, I've been thinking about replacing this written blog with a video blog. Let me know what you think. Cainan Out! Gold!
Hey, everybody! How are you? Right now, I'm watching the biathlon on TV. Last night, we won our first Olympic gold medal on home turf in Moguls. It was so stressful to watch, but so exciting! We were all screaming & cheering. Go Canada Go! We also cheer for Japan since I have family living there. But it's exciting to watch all the countries especially the ones who have only 1 or 2 competitors.
I've been crazy with auditions the last few days, but it's been fun. This is a busy time for auditions. It's great to have a lot of auditions because you kind of get in a groove where memorizing comes easily especially with lots of monologues. It's Great! Now to your questions...To Noel---Enjoy the snow!! Snow Day!! Yeah! My favorite TV show is Seinfield and Gilligan's Island. I love comedy and physical humor. I hope you're watching the Olympics. To Dawn---you can post you're info on my blog comments. I'll make sure it doesn't get posted here for people to see. No, I have not had someone tell someone else I liked them. To David---No, I have never been injured in a martial arts class or tournament. No, fortunately, I've never had to defend myself against anyone. I am a black belt. I'll check out those songs. My favorite event is Freestyle Skiing. Yes, the accident on the luge site was terrible. My prayers go out to his family as well. To Julie---I didn't get to see the opening ceremonies because I went out with some friends, but my sister said it was great. I live an hour outside Vancouver city and yes it is beautiful. We have the ocean, tons of lakes, mountains, we're really green beacause it rains a lot and we have the country side too. That's where I want to live. I want a farm, lots of land and horses. I don't know that Owl City song, but I'll check it out. Thanks for checking out the blog this week. You know where I'll be for the next 2 weeks. In front of the TV watching the Olympics in between auditions. See yah! Cainan Out!
The Olympic Torch!
Hey, everybody! How was your week? Today, I was on the street in a sea of red and white awaiting the torch relay. There were people 3 or 4 deep lining both sides of the street with Canadian flags and banners. It was quite a parade of police cars, beeping police motorcycles, Olympic trucks, vans, vehicles with rappers, dancers and music. Then we saw the runner dressed all in white carrying the lit torch. It was really fun; really something to see. Now to your questions...
To Dawn---Yes, I've heard of Justin Bieber, but I've never heard his music. I have never owned a dog (I have a cool cat), but if I did I would like to have a Golden Retriever. They're nice. Actually, I hang out with my neighbour’s dog. We get along great. We're like best friends. My fav color right now is red. For auditions in LA, try looking up Casting Workbook (internet site) or Backstage (internet/newspaper). To Metalhead13---Yah, that is a weird name. Another different band name is 30 Seconds to Mars. To E. Presley---Liev Schreiber, the director of BOTDH, is a great actor. I saw him in the WWII movie Defiance with Daniel Craig. I can't wait to meet him. How did I get into retroTV? My parents, especially my mom, like the shows they grew up with like Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Gilligan’s Island and the list goes on. To me they are either down to earth or hilarious. Graceland? Very Cool! To Noel---Hey, we need some of that snow up here in Vancouver for the half pipe. I love home schooling. Being a teen actor is a lot more fun than being a child actor. My second language is not French or Spanish; it’s Sign Language. To Julie---No, I’ve never Googled my name. I want to see Hotel for Dogs. I’m glad you liked it. To Cydney---I listen to Owl City type music. I like to dance. Well? I don’t know about that, but it’s fun! I’m not a fan of public school. To Katie---Please don’t include your email address in your comments. We want to keep you safe so we don’t post your personal information. But you can email me on the EiKids website. To Fireflies---Mum’s the word on you know what. I did watch the Grammy’s. We had a Grammy party. There were a lot of good singing performances. My fav Owl City song is Captains and Cruiseships. Yes, sometimes I get nervous before I go into the casting room to audition, but usually after I’m in the room I’m fine. To Twilightfan---Yes, I can write in cursive. No, I don’t have any secrets. I like drawing better than writing. To Madison---Welcome! To Cheerbabe365---Yes, there was a Sandlot website. It was really cool, but I think it's gone now. Thanks for tuning into the blog this week. I hope you're as excited as I am for the Winter Olympics. Only 4 days till the opening ceremonies. So, if you watch them, find a place to sit as "quiet as a mouse" and "on with the show, this is it!" Cainan Out!
Short & Sweet!
Hey, everybody! I hope you had a great week! I've been busy on set. I finish filming the day before the Olympics.
Now to your questions... To Dawn---Yeah, Hailey Morgan would love to help your brother. Have him go to her website www.haileymorganonline.com and comment on her blog page or guest book page. Encourage your brother to go into the contest. Be his number one fan! Don't worry about the audition. Rejection is a part of life for an actor. It makes getting a role all that more special. Don't take it personally. Maybe you didn't have the right look, hair color, body type, voice, who knows. Hey, but now you know what it's like to audition. It's fun isn't? And each time you perform you're honing your craft and getting better and better and getting more comfortable infront of people. So hang in there! Keep watching EiKids because I go into all this stuff on Actor's Corner. I agree with your mom. There's no time like the present. Go out there and get yourself an agent. Just remember to be CONFIDENT! I don't think you're weird and don't listen to people who call you weird. What's weird any way? Be yourself and if they don't like it who cares. I was called weird too, too many times to count. To Noel---Good luck on your exams! Teen pregnancy?---It shouldn't happen. We're kids and we should be having FUN doing kid's stuff like acting, singing, music, sports, whatever you like to do, etc. Me a dad? No, way. I can't even remember where I put the mail key most of the time. Everyone should be busy; join lots of clubs at school; sports teams out of school; volunteer; etc. Leave the boy and girl stuff for waaaaaay later. Oh, and my fav season is Spring. To Twilightfan---I'd like to make a dream catcher, they look cool. On holidays I like to get together with my cousins who are 3 and 8 years old. They want to play for hours and hours. I am definitely going to see Eclipse on opening day! To Dawn---If you mean the email for Eikids it should be working now. The link was missing. To Elvis---The cell Kalm and the other lions were in was a set. And yes, it was very cool! Unfortunately, I didn't get to keep the costume. That one and the one I wore for Beyond Sherwood Forest where the best costumes I've ever worn on set. Gareth's long jacket weighed 15-20lbs. Alan Cumming was very nice. It was a thrill for me to work with him because when I was 10 I loved Spy Kids. He has a great accent too. Lylo was amazing. He's a Vancouver actor and his name is Shawn Macdonald. PS. Big congrats on getting your director!!!!!To Julie---I like all the books of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, but if I had to pick one it'd be book 2.Thanks for stopping by guys and girls. Have a great week! Cainan Out!
Life's Great!
Hi guys! So, how are you? I'm having a great time! I'm also doing my tumbling, animation, school, music, lines and trying to get together with my acting buddy. We actually went to see Avatar. Imax was sold out at 2 differrent times so we watched it in regular 3-D. Avatar is the best! It's my fav movie! If you haven't seen it you've gotta go. It's incredible!
To your great questions...To Twilightfan---Did you see the new poster for Eclipse? The Twilight Saga: Eclipse comes to the movie theatres June 30. Pretty cool! I pretty much read every day. Even when I'm on set I read. I'm an animal lover. I like cats a bit more than dogs only because I've had cats growing up. To Dawn---When I come to LA for The Young Artist Awards we usually stay around Hollywood. Last year it was held at Universal Sudios, but this year it's being held at the Beverly Garland in Studio City April 11, 2010. In our free time we'll be visiting a screenwriter in San Diego, filming for our EiKids Hollywood special and taking in all the sights. I can't wait! I haven't been to the House of Blues, but I like blues. Send your name and address to eikids@telus.net & I'll send you an autographed pic. That's great you and your brother are following EiKids. There's lots of good stuff to get you ready to get out there and audition. That's for the actors and the singers. I'll tell Hailey about your brother. Very cool! I don't get bullied anymore, but when I was younger I did. To Elvis Parsley---Good question. Most of the time we just move our mouths and pretend to talk, but sometimes we whisper and just chit chat. I think I know the perfect Canadian boy for your movie. You can see him play a deaf boy in The Guard. Thanks for the congratulations! To Noel---My fav magazine to read is Archie. Well, it's more of a comic book than a magazine. My fav saying right now would be Earth is full--go home. That's to all those green big-eyed aliens out there. And my fav sport to watch is football. To Cydney--- My fav book is The Bones of Makaidos and my fav movie is Avatar. I don't have finals in homeschooling and my fav subject is Math. Out in theatres, The Spy Next Door looks good. I'm a big Jackie Chan fan! To Katie---Thanks, I'm having a great time. To Julie---Acting is a great industry. Everybody who's there wants to be there. It's a happy place. Thanks for reading all you cool people. I look forward to your posts next week. Remember keep telling all your friends about EiKids. See you next week. Cainan Out! Filming Again!
Hey, guys how are you? I'm really good. I booked the movie I was telling you about last week. I start filming soon. To your questions...
To Twilightfan---I think Christian Bovee meant that you can't expect to succeed unless you have put 210% into it. I have read the book Tuck Everlasting, but not for English. No, I haven't read The Diary of Anne Frank, but we have the book at home. I'm sure I'll be reading it this year. To Elvis Parsley---Love the name, by the way. Thanks, EiKids is really fun to do! Hey, I'll definitely check out HR Pufnstuf with Jack Wild. Yeah, that screenwriter is awesome! No, no one has ever given me a bad review. No, I was never on Divinci. I like Willy and Foghorn Leghorn. To Julie---I like your picture! My favorite thing to do with my sister is...fight. No, I'm kidding! Ahh...sing. We like to sing together and harmonize. Our fav songs to do are those from O, Brother Where Art Thou. To Crazyman6---Welcome and thanks To Dawn---For Spring break I'm hoping to take another horse back riding camp. I did it last year & it was great. Hailey got bucked off her horse so she doesn't want to go back. Break a leg at the audition! The information on the contact page is for my agent. You can send your name & mailing address to eikids@telus.net. It's completely safe. Your personal information will not be given out to anybody. It's for fan mail, question of the week and later the annual EiKids creative competition. Yes, I did hear those Taylor Swift songs. I like them. No, I haven't been to any Mexican celebrations, but I have been to Mexico (on a cruieship) a few times. To Kaity---I'm not sure what I did to put you off boys, but I'm sorry. It's sound's like you're an awesome basketball player!!Thanks for reading. Have a great week! Watch EiKids! We've got a great episode lined up with new characters that you don't want to miss. So Tell your friends & neighbors to go to their computer at 4pm Mondays to catch a new episode of EiKids!!!!!! !!!!!!You'll catch me & singing sensation Hailey Morgan & our friends of course on EiKids! ![]() EiKids!
Hey, guys and gals. How are you? I'm great! I'm waiting to hear about a TV movie I auditioned for. I should find out this week. Wish me luck! Okay, you guessed it. It's finally hear! The count down has ended and the anticipation lingers. It's EiKids! All week long! Yeah!!!!!!!!!
![]() I wanna know what you think. Don't be shy. Give us the good To Noel---No, when I was in school I did not like it. I did love recess, PE and Lunch! I'm homeschooled in Grade 9 and loving it! Eclipse was a great show to work on. I'm very lucky to have been chosen. I can't wait to see it. All the cast members I met were very nice. To Julie---I'm not sure how many books I've read in one week. Maybe 3 big ones, but they'd have to be good. To Happysox101---Happy Birthday!! You're catching up to me. Where will I be going this Summer? I hope I'm going to be working in LA on a great movie. To Cydney---Yes, I do know Laine MacNeil. I first met her on the set of Mr. Troop Mom. The only acting class I've taken besides the odd coaching here and there was when I was 6 year-old. I took a one week workshop. Watch EiKids before you take any classes. Acting classes are really expensive. To Olivia---Welcome! It's great to have you stop by. I am in grade 9, but I'm trying to do Grades 9 & 10 at the same time so I'll be in Grade 11 next year.To David---No, Billy's make-up was easy to apply. It just took awhile because they had to wipe it on pretty well everywhere. And David, about being tired from the sleeping scene in Robin Hood I was joking...but it wasn't really funny. It's not hard to do sleeping and waking up scenes. To Dawn---You could probably look up any acting high schools in your area. Try asking other kids in high school if they know what school is great for the arts. To Twilightfan---No, sorry you got me there. I can not make a shell out of paper. I take the tumbling part of gymnastics, and it's really fun. The splits? No, I'm not flexible that way, but I can sit down and put my feet behind my head or use my foot as a telephone. Hello? As far as art goes, I like drawing. I'm also learning a new computer program in animation. I can sit for hours trying to do it. Once I've got something great I'm going to post it on the EiKids website. It might take awhile. To Jan---My dad says hello back. To cheerbabe365---Thanks for your question. Yes, the Sandlot guys are nice. I still run into a few of them at auditions. Thanks for reading everybody! There were a lot of good questions this week as always. I've gotta go. I'm going to my gramma and grampa's to watch Beyond Sherwood Forest. We don't get the channel, so I wasn't able to watch it when it aired in November and again in December. I got a copy from production so I'll let you know what I think of it next week. Bye. All the Best! Cainan 2010!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's 2010! How was your New Year? Mine was good. This year we didn't bang pots and pans. I played games, Lord of the Rings II: Battle for Middle Earth and Two Worlds. This week I'm going to Vancouver to work on a new voice demo reel. Our agency is going global with it's voice over division which means I can be hired by people all over the world. Too cool! My voice reel will be put up on the website. I'll let you know when it's up on the website. I'm starting tumbling again learning back hand springs, front flips, back flips, etc. What comes out Monday, January 11th, at 4pm PST? Can you guess? It's the first episode of EiKids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's 7 days and counting. It's going to be awesome! You meet many characters, but you have to come back each week to meet more! And now to answer your great questions...
To Danielle---The New Year is starting off great! Things will be getting busy soon. No, I don't have any New Year's resolutions, but this year I'd like to bulk up and gain some muscle. ![]() To Dawn---If you can wait, there is a segment on EiKids that's called ACTOR'S CORNER where I tell the viewers how to get into acting. It's something you don't want to miss. My mom is also coming out with a book series called The Child Actor Series which covers everything you can think of about kids in the acting biz. But if you can't wait, get yourself an agent. My agent sends me to auditions (or I'm requested for roles). Or you can start out as an extra and get an extra agent. Look up agents on the SAG website. I started out doing extra work when I was 5 years old. I don't really do this, but I can send you an autographed 5x7 photo of me. All you have to do is email your name and complete address to eikids@telus.net, but make sure to ask your parents if you can give out your personal information. I can't wait for Eclipse to come out too. My favorite movie is GI Joe. My favorite sport is swimming. To Sunshine---I did't know that Owl City is coming to Vancouver. I'd love to go! To Julie---My favourite Owl City song is Vanilla Twilight, but I listen to all of them. Yes, I can't wait! The Winter Olympic's are my favourite. I love Freestlye Skiing. To Noel---Yes, I've heard those songs cuz Hailey Morgan's doing an artist review on Taylor Swift on EiKids. To David---Yes, Hailey Morgan and I are psyched for EiKids! And you're right, I was painted with yellow make-up to give me a jaundice look. I also wore 22mm contacts that covered the entire eye. No, in Diary of a Wimpy Kid I don't wear any funny make-up or prosthetics, but in one scene I'm wearing something you'll get a kick out of. In Robin Hood, the sleeping scene, was tiring. (Hard job, eh?). To Cydney---You're going to the Olympics-Cool! To Twilightfan---I think what Sam Ewing meant was there are 3 different types of people. First, the hard workers. Second, the snobs. And thirdly, the slackers. I'd like to think I'm the hard worker type. To Speedygal14---I don't know any of the athletes, but I can't wait to learn about them on TV. Thanks for checking out another blog by yours truly, Cainan Wiebe. Have a great start to 2010! ![]() |

. Have a great Spring Break! See you on Actor's Corner!!! Cainan Out!
See yah! Cainan Out!
To Dawn---For Spring break I'm hoping to take another horse back riding camp. I did it last year & it was great. Hailey got bucked off her horse so she doesn't want to go back. Break a leg at the audition! The information on the contact page is for my agent. You can send your name & mailing address to
